Rapper Machine Gun Kelly called Sean Strickland a racist and homophobe during a recent appearance on the IMPAULSIVE podcast. While 'Tarzan' believes he is not a racist in the traditional sense of the word, he is also convinced that in 2024, what constitutes being one is more complicated than ever before.
During the podcast, 'MGK' referenced the time when he met Strickland at a Power Slap event, claiming that he would never have interacted with the UFC star had he been aware of his history of polarizing views.

Suffice it to say, Strickland did not let the disrespect slide. In a post on X, the former middleweight champion clapped back at the 34-year-old musician, saying:
"You know man I don't want to be lectured by a guy who drinks blood and wears purses. But you might be right. 2024 racism is complicated you guys... [Back in the day] somebody didn't like somebody by their skin color, they were f*****g racist. Now it's f*****g complicated... There could be a group of little white hoodlums wearing gang colors, sagging pants, looking like f*****g criminals, and by me saying, 'I think they are criminals' that makes me a racist... These people could be representing a culture of a color and by you not liking them you are f*****g racist. This is how f*****g insane the world is."
