Kevin Holland has expressed his preference for a title shot against Belal Muhammad over Dricus du Plessis. In a media scrum ahead of his upcoming fight against Roman Dolidze at UFC 307, Holland revealed that he would rather drop down to welterweight and face Muhammad if given the opportunity.
Holland believes that du Plessis is a "way better champion" than Muhammad, but he also acknowledges that a title shot against the current champion is unlikely. Therefore, he is open to fighting whoever the UFC puts in front of him.
Speaking to the media, 'Trailblazer' said:
“If I ever get to like a real title shot, I was like, and Belal is still the champ, [I’m] instantly going down to 170 [welterweight]. Because Du Plessis is a way better champ than Belal is. You know what I mean. But that’s not going to happen. So, therefore, whatever they want me to fight, I fight."

Kevin Holland and Joaquin Buckley exchange words ahead of UFC 307
Ahead of their respective fights at UFC 307, Kevin Holland and Joaquin Buckley have traded barbs in the lead-up to the upcoming event in Salt Lake City.
Holland revealed that he is not staying at the official fighter hotel due to concerns about running into Buckley. The two fighters have a history, having previously fought in 2020, with Holland emerging victorious.
Speaking to the media, 'Trailblazer' said:
“I figured if I beat the f*** out of Buckley before the fight happens then you guys lose a fight and I get in trouble...I don’t understand why Wonderboy would want to do that [fight]. Wonderboy at one point in time wanted [to fight] somebody who was just going to strike with him [and] Buckley’s not going to just strike with him, so therefore, Wonderboy’s probably going to lose that fight.”
Buckley, however, has laughed off Holland's comments and insists that he is not afraid to face him:
“I don’t know man, I guess everybody wants to fight lil’ Buck… Regardless though, there ain’t no problems, I don’t have an issue with Kevin Holland you know... " [H/t: Bloody Elbow]
