Umar Nurmagomedov took on Raoni Barcelos in the first UFC event of 2022. The Dagestani made quick work of his opponent and knocked him out in the opening round.

Nurmagomedov is an undefeated fighter with an impressive professional record of 16-0.

With his victory at UFC Vegas 67, the 26-year-old is now on a four-fight win streak in the UFC.

The Dagestani made his debut in the promotion in January 2021 when he took on Sergey Morozov in a bantamweight scrap. Nurmagomedov had an incredible outing and finished his opponent with a rear-naked choke in the second round. He was also awarded the 'Performance of the Night' bonus worth $50,000 for the victory.

Nurmagomedov then moved up to featherweight for his next fight and competed against Brian Kelleher at UFC 272. Once again, the 26-year-old made quick work of his opponent and submitted him in the very first round.

In June 2022, Nurmagomedov moved back down to bantamweight to lock horns with Nate Maness. The fight went the full 15-minute distance, and the undefeated fighter was awarded the victory via unanimous decision. The three judges scored the contest 30-27, 30-26 and 30-25 in favor of the 26-year-old.

Umar Nurmagomedov speaks on Khabib Nurmagomedov's retirement as an MMA coach

After helping Usman Nurmagomedov and Islam Makhachev capture titles in their respective organizations, Khabib Nurmagomedov recently announced that he would be stepping away from his duties as an MMA coach.

Nurmagomedov's cousin Umar shared his thoughts on the matter and claimed 'The Eagle' would still help his fighters with training in Dagestan. The 26-year-old added that 'The Eagle' wanted to take a break and that he was happy for the former lightweight champion:

"We will still train. We will be training together when in Dagestan. Nothing changes like that, we're brothers... I don't think he [Khabib Nurmagomedov] can stop, he will still control me and my brother, some other guys, but not the same [way]. He doesn't want to travel, doesn't want to come to camps and stay with us for a couple of months...That's why he make the decision, I'm happy for him."
