Khabib Nurmagomedov will serve as a cornerman at UFC 311 when Islam Makhachev defends his lightweight title against Arman Tsarukyan in the main event. On the same night, Umar Nurmagomedov challenges Merab Dvalishvili for bantamweight gold in the co-main event.
'The Eagle' reacted to the news, which was shared by Dana White, on Instagram While the legendary lightweight is certainly up to the task, he recognizes the daunting challenge of gearing up two of his pupils for important title fights on the same night.
"Two title fights at once! I think it's never happened before, or hasn't happened until now. What a night is waiting for me. I hope I'll survive."

The aforementioned title fights are of great importance to both Makhachev as well as Nurmagomedov. Makhachev has managed three successful title defenses thus far, equaling the UFC lightweight record set by both his mentor and B.J. Penn.
If he manages to defeat Tsarukyan in a rematch, it will put make him the most successful lightweight champion in UFC history. As for Nurmagomedov, his bout against Dvalishvili will be his first UFC title fight.
Now, he has the chance to become yet another one of the late great Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov's students to capture UFC gold and continue the Dagestani conquest of MMA.
