Khabib Nurmagomedov removed from flight: Frontier Airlines issues statement, claims 'The Eagle' and his teammates have been refunded

After being removed from a flight, Frontier Airlines recently issued a statement in response to Khabib Nurmagomedov's complaints. The statement comes following a video that surfaced showing the UFC Hall of Famer being removed from a flight and several complaints on social media.

'The Eagle' was on board a flight from Las Vegas to San Francisco and seated in an exit seat. The former UFC lightweight champion was then reportedly asked a series of questions by the flight attendant in accordance with FAA guidelines for exit row passengers. After failing to respond, Nurmagomedov was then removed from the flight.

Nurmagomedov was obviously not too pleased and sounded off on the airline for allegedly being racially motivated. In a statement released to MMA Fighting, Frontier Airlines cleared up what transpired and disputed the racial accusations by mentioning that the former UFC lightweight champion and his team were given full refunds after declining a move to another seat:

"Video circulating on social media platforms do not capture their interaction, and instead show a subsequent interaction after a gate agent entered the plane and reiterated the option to be reseated. As a result of the customer's initial unresponsiveness and repeated declinations of a seat change, he was asked to deplane per airline and FAA policy. The decision to deplane the customer was in no way related to his ethnicity and we have refunded him and his traveling companions for their flights."

What was Khabib Nurmagomedov's recollection of what transpired?

Despite Frontier Airlines' statement regarding Khabib Nurmagomedov's removal from his flight, 'The Eagle' had a much different recollection of what transpired.

Nurmagomedov took to his Instagram account yesterday to air his grievance toward the airline and shared what resulted in his removal from the flight. The MMA legend mentioned that he responded to questions, which contradicts the airline's statement:

"Lady who comes to me with questions was very rude from the very beginning, even though I speak very decent English and can understand everything and agreed to assist, she still insists on removing me from my seat...After two minutes of conversation, she called security and I was deplaned from this aircraft, after 1.5 hour, I boarded another airline...and left to my destination."
