Umar Nurmagomedov is set to square off against bantamweight king Merab Dvalishvili in the co-main event of UFC 311. With a few weeks left for the fight, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager has now praised the undefeated Dagestani bantamweight.
'Young Eagle' is on a six-fight win streak in the UFC, with a professional MMA record of 18 wins and zero losses. He was bred for greatness by his cousin Khabib 'The Eagle' Nurmagomedov, who was transformed into an incredible fighter by his father, Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov.
Other Dagestani fighters, including the lightweight king Islam Makhachev, are always praising the UFC Hall of Famer and his late father. Umar has also trained under Abdulmanap previously and now trains under Khabib, Javier Mendez, and Magomed Bagandov.
Meanwhile, Ali Abdelaziz who is 'The Eagle' and 'Young Eagle's' manager, posted a picture on X, calling him Umar "the best fighter" and a "great role model."

Tagir Ulanbekov credits Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov for Umar Nurmagomedov's greatness and distinguished fight style
Umar Nurmagomedov is all set for an attempt to dethrone Merab Dvalishvili in the co-main event of UFC 311. A cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov, the unbeaten bantamweight has a distinct fighting style that combines wrestling and striking.
In a recent interview with Ushatayka, Tagir Ulanbekov, Nurmagomedov's teammate revealed the reason behind 'Young Eagle's' greatness and distinguished fight style and credited the late Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. He said:
“He [Umar Nurmagomedov] always swung his legs. Now, in his fights, too, you see, with his hands and legs, both. This is what distinguished him, and gradually, he learned to defend himself from wrestling, too. It’s all our coach Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov. He didn’t even let him in freestyle wrestling. He closed it there in freestyle wrestling for a long time.”
