Ali Abdelaziz recently reacted to a fan's assertion suggesting that Kayla Harrison is transgender. Harrison defeated Ketlen Vieira last Saturday in a pivotal bantamweight showdown at UFC 307, held at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
After the former Olympic gold medalist's victory, Abdelaziz took to X to congratulate his client on her hard-fought win and advocated strongly for her to become the 135-pound champion by next year:
"The last couple of weeks for this young lady have been very challenging. She never makes excuses. One thing I know about her is that she fights against the odds for her life. In 2025, she will be the UFC champion."

"Your mother is."

Trolls have persistently targeted Harrison throughout her MMA career, alleging that she is a transgender female, seemingly due to her dominant fighting style and impressive physique, which distinguish her from her opponents.
The 34-year-old Ohio native has now achieved back-to-back wins in the UFC, starting with her promotional debut, where she earned a second-round submission victory over Holly Holm at UFC 300 in April.
Kayla Harrison opens up about being hospitalized before UFC 307
During a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Kayla Harrison disclosed that she faced serious medical issues in the lead-up to her fight, which resulted in her hospitalization and ultimately affected her performance against Ketlen Vieira at UFC 307:
"I don't like to make excuses. I had to go to the hospital the week before. I was like peeing blood, and there was some stuff going on. So, I don't like to make excuses, but I definitely wasn't my best inside the cage Saturday night."
While Harrison did not reveal the specific details of her medical issues, she suggested that they likely arose from the taxing weight cut she underwent:
"I'm just not built to weigh 135 pounds. Anytime I get under the 150s, it's not pleasant. The first time was fear of can I do it? And this time, it was fear of like, 'Oh, God, I have to do it.' You know, like the anticipation."
