A look into Khalil Rountree Jr.'s journey in the UFC so far

Khalil Rountree Jr. has had a rollercoaster career in the UFC since debuting in 2016 after appearing on 'The Ultimate Fighter: Team Joanna vs. Team Cláudia'. His early years saw mixed success, losing his debut to Andrew Sanchez and later being submitted by Tyson Pedro.

However, Rountree Jr. bounced back in 2017 with back-to-back knockout victories against Daniel Jolly and Paul Craig.

In 2018, Rountree Jr. earned the Performance of the Night award with a stunning knockout of Gökhan Saki at UFC 226. Despite setbacks, including a loss to Johnny Walker and a controversial decision win over Dustin Jacoby in 2022, Rountree Jr. continued his rise, defeating Chris Daukaus via TKO in August 2023.

Rountree Jr.'s career hit turbulence when he was suspended in May 2024 after testing positive for banned substances. This forced him to withdraw from a scheduled bout with Jamahal Hill at UFC 303.

Despite the recent setback at UFC 307, Rountree Jr. remains a prominent figure in the light heavyweight division, with a reputation for powerful striking and a resilient fighting spirit.
