Khamzat Chimaev answers if he would ever like to train with MMA great Fedor Emelianenko

Khamzat Chimaev shared his thoughts on the possibility of training with legendary mixed martial artist Fedor Emelianenko. 'Borz' recently made an appearance on Adam Zubayraev's YouTube channel, and was asked about the possibility of training with MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko as the legendary fighter's team was also training at Mount Elbrus in Russia.

Chimaev expressed his interest, saying:

“Yes of course i’d like to train with Fedor such a great person who competed during a time when there were very few guys from CIS [former Soviet countries] like him and it would be good to learn from someone like him.”

However, the middleweight fighter also expressed hesitation about changing the dynamics of his training and shifting from his own team to Emelianenko’s camp. He explained that he is unsure of what their attitude toward him and his team would be. Chimaev said:

“I have my own team and everyone helps me and everything’s working out well and to change something to another go somewhere else and with someone else … maybe they wouldn't want to train with us I don't know that their attitude towards us... It's better to go to Elbrus with my own team and do our own training.”

Joe Rogan predicts how a potential fight between Khamzat Chimaev and Dricus du Plessis will unfold

UFC color commentator Joe Rogan, in an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, backed Chimaev to get the job done in a potential fight with ‘Stillknocks', saying:

"[Dricus du Plessis] can wrestle, he's got very good Jiu-jitsu. He hits hard and he's a big, durable dude. But I don't know if he's going to be able to wrestle with that guy [Khamzat Chimaev]. I don't know, man. Khamzat's skill is so high level, it makes me wonder..."
