Khamzat Chimaev next fight: Who and when is 'Borz' likely to fight next in the UFC?

After easily beating Kevin Holland at UFC 279: Diaz vs. Ferguson, Khamzat Chimaev's return to the octagon has been much anticipated. Dana White recently gave some insight into when 'Borz' will be back in action.

The UFC president stated that he would love for the Swedish-based fighter to compete in England when the organization returns to the country in 2023.

The English card will likely be headlined by Leon Edwards in a rematch against Kamaru Usman. An opponent for Khamzat Chimaev hasn't been announced yet, but either Belal Muhammad or Colby Covington would seem like probable opponents for 'Borz'.

"I would love to do that fight (Chimaev's return) in England."

Dana White has stated that he will get Chimaev vs. Covington booked as the co-main event for the third fight between Leon Edwards and Kamaru Usman in England. However, Belal Muhammad believes that he is more deserving of the bout than Covington. Muhammad stated that 'Chaos' was hiding and criticized his wins in the UFC.

Muhammad even called out both Edwards and Chimaev after his UFC 280 victory against Sean Brady. 'Remember the Name' is currently on an eight-fight win streak in the UFC, with his biggest inconvenience being a no-contest result against Leon Edwards at UFC Vegas 21.

What did Dana White say about Khamzat Chimaev's altercation at UFC 280?

Besides the fights, one of the biggest talking points after UFC 280 was a crowd altercation between Khamzat Chimaev and Abubakar Nurmagomedov. The two fighters were seemingly having a discussion before blows were exchanged from both sides in Abu Dhabi.

Dana White wasn't too surprised that the incident involved Chimaev and has seemingly come to expect this behavior from 'Borz'. The Swedish-based fighter also had a backstage altercation with Kevin Holland at UFC 279.

While speaking about Chimaev's latest incident, the UFC president stated:

"What do I even say about that? It happens, especially with (Khamzat). It happens. I didn’t even know Khamzat was coming tonight. He was invited here by Abu Dhabi."

However, the two UFC fighters have since squashed the beef and shared a meal together with the rest of 'Team Khabib' after UFC 280. Khamzat Chimaev is becoming somewhat of a 'bad guy' in the UFC, so it'll be interesting to see how far 'Borz' will push this new image.
