Khamzat Chimaev had an outstanding performance in the co-main event of UFC 308. 'Borz' locked horns against Robert Whittaker in a five-round showdown which took place on October 26. The 30-year-old ran through 'The Reaper' and submitted him in the opening round of the fight.
Later, it came to light that Chimaev's submission attempt resulted in Whittaker suffering a brutal jaw injury.
UFC commentator Daniel Cormier shared a picture of the Australian's broken jaw during the live telecast of the event.

'Borz' made an appearance at the post-fight press conference and shared his thoughts on the injury.
"Before I come in here, they show [a picture of Whittaker's injury] to me but I felt something was wrong with his chin when I push it. So, feel bad for that, didn't mean to [break] somebody's chin. But this is my work, you know. Make somebody pain and make me happy and my family."

An MMA account named @homeoffight also uploaded a picture of Whittaker's injury to their Instagram account.
Several MMA fans took to the comments section of that post to react to the picture.
One individual claimed that the injury might be career-threatening for the Australian.
"Could be a career ender."
Another user opined that the recovery from the injury could prove to be a painful journey for Whittaker.
"That's a Painful a** recovery. This is a scary level of strength."

With the victory, Chimaev extended his undefeated record to 14-0 and scored a 'Performance of the Night' bonus worth $50,000. This marked 'Borz's sixth post-fight bonus in his eight UFC outings.
With four victories, Chimaev now has the fourth-longest active win streak in the middleweight division.
