ONE welterweight world champion, Kiamrian Abbasov, has taken issue with Christian Lee deciding to invade his territory.
Recapturing the lightweight title at ONE 160 in August, Christian Lee will step up to the higher weight class in pursuit of becoming a two-division ONE world champion. Standing in his way will be the bigger and likely stronger Kyrgyz-Russian knockout artist in Kiamrian Abbasov.
In an interview with ONE Championship, Abbasov sent Lee a word of warning about what happens once the cage door closes behind them this Friday, November 18:
“When the cage is closed, neither media nor his family will help him. It will be only I and he with all his big problems because of his desire to move up to my division.”

With Abbasov’s size advantage and an impressive 75% finish rate, ‘Brazen’ will look to put a beating on Lee. However, it would be unwise to count out ‘The Warrior’ already.
While he is giving up a significant size advantage, Lee is the most prolific finisher in ONE Championship history with an incredible 94% finish rate. His speed matched with power makes him a tough matchup in any weight class.

Christian Lee is motivated by being the underdog against Kiamrian Abbasov
Despite being on his second reign as the lightweight world champion, Christian Lee believes that he thrives as an underdog. It’s not a position he regularly finds himself in, but many suggest that ‘The Warrior’ has bitten off more than he can chew by choosing to step into the circle with a veritable killer like the welterweight world titleholder Kiamrian Abbasov.
In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, this is what the lightweight champion had to say about the same:
“I always look at myself as the underdog, as the challenger... And I always feel like I need to be working harder. So I'm never going to be satisfied with my performance until I've hung up my gloves and I'm done fighting.”
Should Christian Lee be victorious in his ONE on Prime Video 4 main event clash with Abbasov, he will join a very short list of two-division MMA world champions that includes ONE legends such as Aung L N Sang, Martin ‘The Situ-Asian’ Nguyen, and ‘The Dutch Knight’ Renier de Ridder.
Will Christian Lee capture his second ONE world championship on Friday night or will the size advantage of Kiamrian Abbasov be too much to overcome?
