ONE Championship’s reigning and defending welterweight world titleholder Kiamrian Abbasov believes Christian Lee is way over his head. Lee will be stepping up to the welterweight division for two-division glory.
At ONE on Prime Video 4, Lee returns to the Circle after recapturing the ONE lightweight world championship at ONE 160. He’ll take on welterweight king Kiamrian Abbasov in the evening’s main event with the goal of being a two-division world champion.
In an interview with ONE Championship ahead of their champion vs. champion clash on November 18th, Abbasov suggested that ‘The Warrior’ has bitten off more than he can chew heading into his welterweight title bid.
“Christian is a good opponent. He is a good, explosive fighter, but I know his weaknesses and I am not a guy from his division – the rules are different here."

Already a ONE Lightweight World Grand Prix champion and the reigning lightweight champion, Christian Lee is primed to make ONE history if he captures the welterweight title.
ONE legend Aung La N Sang never counts out Christian Lee and his family
When it comes to the Lee family, counting them out is never advisable. Starting with the atomweight queen Angela Lee, ONE Championship has played host to multiple members of this elite MMA family. Debuting as a 17-year-old prodigy in 2015, Christian Lee already has an impressive 20 career fights inside the Circle at just 24 years of age.
Speaking with The MMA Super Fan, ONE Championship icon Aung La N Sang spoke about the Lee family and believes that if he can become a two-division titleholder, so can 'The Warrior'.
“It is possible, Angela was close too, you know. So you cannot count the Lee family out. If Martin [Nguyen] and I can do it, anybody can do it. Crazy huh? It’s a sport of MMA.”
At ONE on Prime Video 2, Angela Lee had the opportunity to capture a second world title against strawweight world champion Xiong Jin Nan. The two lady warriors delivered a fast and furious 25-minute war. In the end, Angela Lee came up short in her bid for dual-champion status. Now it’s up to Christian Lee to bring home another piece of gold for the Lee family in Hawaii.
