Alex Pereira vouches for Jon Jones
Recently UFC CEO Dana White confirmed to fans that the highly anticipated title fight between Jon Jones and Tom Aspinall will happen in 2025. Jones will put his heavyweight title on the line against the interim holder.
'Bones' had previously stated his desire to fight Alex Periera instead amid talk of 'Poatan' moving up to the heavyweight division. However, White has dismissed the chances of a potential matchup between the light heavyweight champion and the heavyweight kingpin.
Pereira could defend his title against Magomed Ankalaev in 2025 as a super fight with Jones is now off the table.
Recently, he gave his views on the impending showdown between Bones and the Brit, telling TNT Sports:
"I think Jon Jones has a lot of experience on his side. Some people say, ‘Aspinall this, Aspinall that,’ but it comes down to experience. Jon Jones is a seasoned guy. He’s been there, so I think he wins."
