Karate Combat fighter Samuel Ericsson has signed a one-fight deal with Misfits Boxing. But Sportskeeda has also learned of another deal he has signed.
Ericsson is a well-known karateka and social media influencer. Karate Combat's CEO, Adam Kovacs, confirmed to Sportskeeda that Ericsson remains exclusively signed to Karate Combat. He has been allowed to agree to this deal with Misfits and the karate outfit will even promote him on his excursion.
Another major update revealed by Kovacs was of Ericsson re-signing with the promotion on a two-year deal. The new deal signals an intent between the two parties to continue, even as the Swede enters the world of boxing. He has a record of 2-0-0 thus far.
Ericsson now has the unique opportunity to continue honing his skills in the full-contact karate arena while also expanding his repertoire with Misfits Boxing. It will be interesting to see how Ericsson fares in this new environment and how his unique style translates.

The promotion continues to grow and evolve, with exciting new fighters like Ericsson signing on to compete. They have also announced three major events to come later this year, with between four and six events to follow in 2023 alone.
Karate Combat is also working on signing some "big players"
Although understandably wanting to keep his cards close to his chest, Adam Kovacs teased some new signings. He confirmed that the promotion was "making moves on some big players."
He wouldn't divulge any particulars outside of the tease, only saying that it would come as no surprise if you were to follow his Twitter feed and look at the top players representing karate at the highest level.

The karate promotion has stood itself apart from its MMA competitors already, bringing in tenured veterans like GSP and Bas Rutten. Just in December, they promoted a clash between medal-winning Karateka, Rafael Aghayev, and former Bellator kickboxing champion Raymond Daniels.
