Kwon Won Il doesn't just want the throne, he wants to hurt Fabricio Andrade in the worst way possible.

The South Korean knockout machine will challenge his old foe for the ONE bantamweight MMA world title in the co-main event of the stacked ONE 170 card on Friday, Jan. 24, at Impact Arena.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Kwon said he wants to secure either a knockout or a submission when he takes his shot at Andrade's coveted bantamweight MMA gold.

"I don’t have any other plans but to finish him in every way possible," said Kwon Won Il.

The pair have been embroiled in a heated rivalry since the lead-up to their first meeting at ONE 158 in June 2022 in Singapore.

At that time, Andrade and Kwon were seen as the next possible contenders for the ONE bantamweight MMA world title.

Weeks before they were set to lock horns inside the cage, the two knockout artists traded venom on the mic and things looked to culminate in a bloody barnburner inside the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Andrade, however, had other plans and he knocked Kwon out with a surgical roundhouse kick to the midsection just 1:02 into the opening round.

'Wonder Boy' eventually captured the vacant ONE bantamweight MMA world title when he stopped John Lineker at ONE Fight Night 7, while Kwon recaptured his form with three straight knockout wins.

Kwon went on a tear after losing to Andrade and sent Mark Abelardo, Artem Belakh, and Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg to the shadow realm in his march to his first world title opportunity.

Kwon Won Il doesn't see Fabricio Andrade lasting past the third round

Kwon Won Il has always been a confident fighter, and he predicted that his world title challenge against ONE bantamweight MMA world champion Fabricio Andrade wouldn't reach the championship rounds.

In the same interview with Sportskeeda MMA, 'Pretty Boy' said Andrade wouldn't be able to handle his overwhelming pressure and that the fight would only last until the third round.

He said:

"I will finish him in the very first round or if he survives that, it will finish before the third round."
