As Jeremy Miado looks to return to the win column, he knows what he needs to work on in order to compete at the top of the strawweight MMA division. The first step to getting back to where he needs to be is to look at his mistakes in his recent losses and learn from them.

'The Jaguar' has proven himself to be a very dangerous striker, as best shown in his clash with Danial Williams.

His issue is that in and around him at the top of the strawweight MMA division are predominantly grappling specialists who will look to take Miado out of his comfort zone.

This is sure to once again be the case in his return at ONE Fight Night 23 on July 5, where he faces the top five ranked Hiroba Minowa.

Miado spoke in a recent interview with The MMA Superfan about how a focus of his training camp has been on avoiding and escaping positions that Minowa will be confident in:

"Right now, I'm really looking at possible submission attempts that he'll try against me. I'm drilling escapes for those possible attempts and of course, learning how to avoid bad positions in these exchanges."

Jeremy Miado is putting in the work

It has been a tough run of results for Jeremy Miado as of late as he comes into this contest without a win in his last three appearances.

The same can be said for Minowa, with the two opponents facing many of the top contenders at strawweight between them.

This hasn't taken away Miado's motivation to improve and adapt with each passing fight and training camp.

On June 5, he will look to put what he has learned into practice by defending himself against the grappling and submission threat that his opponent brings to the table.
