The former 22-year-old Haggerty put on the pressure from the start, finding his range very quickly to surprise Sam-A with the first knockdown. Sam-A for his part, was forced to dig deep in the latter rounds after giving up the first round to Haggerty.
But the UK youngster didn't relent. He overcame the odds to score a well-deserved decision victory over a seemingly unbeatable world-class champion.

"He's on another level" - Kickboxing kingpin Superlek Kiatmoo9 acknowledges that Jonathan Haggerty has gotten better since their first encounter
ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 says he anticipates an improved version of Jonathan Haggerty on September 6.
About six years ago, the two combatants fought each other outside the promotion in a massive Muay Thai battle in Thailand. They fought brilliantly but Superlek came out on top via a technical knockout due to a doctor's stoppage.
Now that both Haggerty and Superlek are at the pinnacle of their careers in ONE Championship, the Thai superstar says he's ready to test out just how good Haggerty is.
Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA, Superlek said:
"He's improved his speed, also his power. His punches are precise, and he's gained a lot of experience since then. I can say that he's on another level."
