Kade Ruotolo feels like it's time to come up with a better name for his signature submission maneuver.

Competing on the same card as his brother for the first time since December 2022, Kade and Tye Ruotolo delivered matching arm-in guillotine chokes to score the respective victories over Francisco Lo and Izaak Michell at ONE Fight Night 21.

Speaking with Mitch Chilson immediately following his win over Lo, Kade Ruotolo dubbed the unique submission the "Ruotolo-tine."

But after some careful considering, the 21-year-old superstar believes it's time to come up with a name that's a bit more modest.

Ruotolo said during an appearance on the Beasts with Brains Podcast with Alex Wendling:

"I still feel very conceited about saying it that way. I don’t know, I just don’t feel comfortable saying it like that. I was even showing it to a few guys at the gym, and they were like what was that even? And I just had to force it out of me…the Ruotolo-tine. But let’s find another name. I don’t want to call it that."

Kade Ruotolo defends his title against Mikey Musumeci in massive superfight at ONE 168

With a perfect 7-0 record under the ONE Championship banner, the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion will put his gold on the line later this year in a match already being dubbed the biggest grappling clash in promotional history.

Stepping inside the Circle at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, on Friday, September 6, Ruotolo will square off with fellow ONE world champion Mikey Musumeci.

It will be the first time that two ONE submission grappling world champions square off in a superfight.

Aside from the gold, both men will put their 'O' and their pride on the line for the opportunity to walk away with the ultimate bragging rights. Of course, the stakes are a bit higher for Musumeci, who—with a win—will make history once again by becoming the promotion's first-ever two-division submission grappling world champion.
