Liam Harrison believes his former foe and Thai legend Nong-O Hama could wreak havoc in a lower weight class.

Beyond Kickboxing previously reported that the former ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion wants to move down to flyweight and join the shark tank that already has Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Superlek Kiatmoo9, Elias Mahmoudi, Kongthoranee Sor Sommai and Nakrob Fairtex.

Jumping on the comments section of ONE Championship's Instagram post about the Muay Thai icon, Harrison wrote that Nong-O would be a completely different animal at 135 pounds.

Liam Harrison commented:

"Gonna be a big problem now he's moving down to 135 division."

Harrison challenged then-bantamweight Muay Thai king Nong-O for the throne at ONE on Prime Video 1 but lost via first-round knockout in their Singapore matchup.

Nong-O is often cited as one of the greatest Muay Thai fighters of all time, and the person who helped elevate the prestige of the historic Lumpinee Stadium.

Before joining ONE Championship, Nong-O was a four-division Lumpinee Stadium world champion, a two-time Lumpinee Stadium Fighter of the Year, and a Rajadamnern Stadium world champion.

The 38-year-old veteran was the inaugural ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world champion, defending the strap seven straight times from 2019 to 2023 before relinquishing the throne to Jonathan Haggerty at ONE Fight Night 9.

Nong-O's presence in the flyweight class already presents the idea of multiple super fights against fellow Thai superstars Rodtang and Superlek, two fighters guaranteed to put on an absolute barnburner against the former multi-time world champion.

As for Harrison, the British legend is set to return from a short-lived retirement and mount one final charge in 2025.

Liam Harrison says he'll be back in the ONE Championship circle in the summer of 2025

Liam Harrison's decision to retire from competition in September 2024 certainly caused a shock in the community.

His decision to return, however, left the fans downright stunned.

In an interview with ONE Championship, Harrison revealed that he'll be back lacing up the small gloves for a summertime return to the promotion.

Liam Harrison said:

"Retirement was to be the plan, but they can’t keep me away. So in March, I’m fighting in Manchester on Hitman Fight League for the WBC Diamond Belt. I’m a former WBC World Champion. And then I’ll be back in ONE around the summertime."
