British Muay Thai sensation Liam Harrison said it felt nice to get noticed by retired legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather as a potential opponent for one of his exhibition bouts this year.
The ‘Hitman’ didn’t know what hit him when he was approached by Mayweather’s team to fight the retired boxer at the O2 Arena in London. Unfortunately, Harrison’s current knee injury prevented him from accepting the full-on challenge.
Nevertheless, he’s forever grateful to Mayweather for taking notice of him in the first place. Speaking to the MMA Superfan, the UK superstar said:
“But it was nice just to get asked and getting recognized and getting noticed enough by his team and by Floyd himself. To put me in that sort of position where I’m the guy that they’re gonna look for for fights. So it’s nice just being on their radar.”

Liam Harrison hasn’t bounced back yet from an injury he suffered during one of his training sessions last year. The effects of his absence from fighting was felt throughout the Muay Thai community. He was initially scheduled to have three major bouts to jumpstart the year to potentially get himself back into world title contention.
Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little while longer before he returns to action. In the same interview, Harrison revealed the timeline for his return:
“I might not be able to fight Muay Thai till back about the summer I don’t think. So maybe I could do it when my knee’s rehabbing or maybe in a year’s time.”
Joe Rogan says he’s a big fan of Liam Harrison’s aggressive fighting style
Popular podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan revealed he’s a big fan of Liam Harrison’s in-your-face fighting style.
The fact that Liam Harrison was nicknamed ‘Hitman’ has a lot to do with his brawling and often violent way of fighting. Aptly named, Harrison is sending shockwaves across the shores and into The United States with his vibrant personality and fighting talent.
Here’s what Joe Rogan said to Harrison when he appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience last month:
“I’m a big fan of the way you fight, man. You fight like you’ve got rabbies.”
To which the UK star happily responded with:
“I’ve always had that type of style. You know what, sometimes I’ve probably lost fights on points because of wanting to go for the kill when probably I had a chance to change my game plan. I probably could have won, but that’s just not what I’m about.”
