Liam Harrison has opened up about his career-changing experience training in Thailand.
‘Hitman’ has traveled around the world during his long career as a fighter. The 37-year-old recently sat down to reflect on the benefits of training in Thailand, which is the birthplace of “the art of eight limbs."
Harrison had this to say in a video posted on Instagram:
“I had to face my fears. Maybe, I’m not as good as I think. I thought there’s only one way to find out. I had to go to Thailand and train with these guys. I just have to fight with them every time. I have to train with them every day. Doing that, that brought me up to the next level. It’s life experience, as well. I’ve got a lot of like crazy stories that other fighters aren’t gonna have, and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world.”

Harrison is currently the No.4-ranked bantamweight Muay Thai contender in ONE Championship after making his promotional debut in December 2018
‘Hitman’ started his ONE Championship tenure at featherweight and then decided to move down. Harrison proved that bantamweight is his optimal weight class, winning two consecutive fights before taking a crack at Nong-O Hama for the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship at ONE on Prime Video 1.

Liam Harrison returns to the gym for a light workout
Liam Harrison suffered a severe knee injury in his fight against Nong-O Hama, leading to a recent surgery. ‘Hitman’ was close to securing a boxing match against Floyd Mayweather, which would have been a massive opportunity. However, he opted out because of his injury.
The 37-year-old has now provided an update on his recovery with a since-deleted Instagram post that had the caption:
“Got myself back to the gym today for a light workout …been losing my mind the last 9 days shacked up not being able to do anything. Good to be back moving and getting some work in. Got a solid team around me to help with all the rehab @gymking #gym #fitness #motivavtion”
Harrison’s body might be suffering from relentless wear and tear, but he’s not ready to retire. ‘Hitman’ is planning to return this year with his No.4 bantamweight ranking intact.
Only time will tell who the three-time Muay Thai world champion fights next.
