Muay Thai legend ‘Hitman’ Liam Harrison shared some career-changing advice to MMA star Paddy Pimblett in a clip this week which has gone viral.

The UK superstar is known for sharing unfiltered combat stories about his training in Thailand and this time with Paddy Pimblett, it was no different. Having left the European scene at an early stage in his career to train and compete in Thailand, Harrison recalls learning many lessons about the sport the hard way.

In a hilarious post that went viral this week, ‘Hitman’ spoke about why you should never give your back in Muay Thai. In the caption, he wrote:

“Trial and error ..When I first went to Thailand and as a teenager years ago I never knew certain techniques could have such a huge effect on the outcome of the fight…I knew it was bad but didn’t realise it was that bad 🤣. Lesson learned the hard way. #muaythai #thailand #liamharrison #paddypimblett.”

Liam Harrison is currently on the mend after having a successful knee surgery just a few weeks ago. The Leeds-born athlete is hoping to get back into the gym as soon as possible after teasing a return to action on Instagram.

Harrison is currently ranked No. 4 in the stacked bantamweight division, but he intends to claw his way back into world title contention to run things back again with divisional king Nong-O Hama.

Liam Harrison disappointed a Floyd Mayweather super fight couldn’t come to fruition

‘Hitman’ Liam Harrison had a couple of bouts lined up for him before suffering a knee injury during a training session last year.

He was officially signed to face rising star Pongsiri PK.Saenchai at ONE Fight Night 6: Superbon vs. Allazov in January, but was forced to pull himself out of the bout. Pongsiri nevertheless found himself another match at a later date, fighting at the famed Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok at ONE Friday Fights 2.

Harrison also revealed in a past interview that retired boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr., was interested in fighting him in an exhibition-style boxing bout in the UK. Mayweather had released a cheeky statement on his Instagram last month, stating that their fight had been established, but Harrison immediately corrected Mayweather’s announcement with the following words online:

"My surgeon has agreed that the fight would not be possible and I'm absolutely heartbroken. Floyd is the greatest boxer of all time and I would have wanted to put in a good account of myself, not just for me but for the whole Muay Thai community. I'm seriously flattered to have even been approached for this fight. I really hope when I’m recovered we can make this fight happen.”

Liam Harrison is still under contract with ONE Championship despite Mayweather’s attempt to draw him out. The Singapore-based promotion is expected to make an announcement for Liam Harrison’s next fight soon, so stay tuned for more updates.
