To Liam Nolan, being a martial artist is not just about throwing it down with a fellow athlete inside the ring or circle.
The British striker – who runs it back against Sinsamut Klinmee in a lightweight Muay Thai clash at ONE Fight Night 16 – sees it as a way to achieve greatness after years of sacrifices and discipline.
Ahead of his return on the stacked November 3 bill, which goes down inside the revered Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, the Knowlesy Academy athlete broke down what martial arts mean to him.

Liam Nolan told ONE Championship:
“It’s hard. We’ve all been through it in our sport. It’s such a hard-nosed sport. We’re these big tough men who fight with one another, but wins and losses mean so much to us individually. It’s very intimate.
“We put our livelihood on the line every time we step in there. So, the outcome means so much to us. It’s never just a fight.”
With the right goals set and a calculated path to success, anything is achievable, per the fighter nicknamed ‘Lethal'.
Although he started his promotional run with a couple of defeats, periods that could have completely broken down a fighter, the Roar Combat League champion decided to power up at his gym to fix his shortcomings.
In turn, the 26-year-old striker has amassed three wins from four promotional outings since his sophomore outing at ONE: Dreams of Gold in August 2019 – the only loss coming to Sinsamut when they traded leather at ONE 159 last year.
With an opportunity to avenge his defeat at ONE Fight Night 16 and an outside chance to potentially book a ticket to a world championship clash opposite divisional king Regian Eersel, Liam Nolan is all but fired up to bring his best version on fight night.
