Former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon never fails to dazzle his Thai fans whenever he is scheduled for a ONE Championship card in his homeland. However, competing in Japan will always have a special place in his heart.
He will return to the 'Land of the Rising Sun' on March 23, 2025, as part of ONE 172, where he will duke it out with hometown hero Takeru Segawa in a flyweight kickboxing bout. The event will occur inside the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
'The Iron Man' professed his excitement to be competing on ONE's fifth card in Japan during the ONE 172 press conference:
"I'm genuinely happy to fight in Japan. Japan is like my second home. While I'm disappointed I couldn't return for a while, I'm excited about this fight. I'll fight as if Japan is my home, so please look forward to it."

Rodtang has previously competed on two of the promotion's Japan cards: ONE: A New Era in March 2019 and ONE: Century Part II in October of the same year. He fought Hakim Hamech and Walter Goncalves in the respective events and claimed hard-fought victories on both occasions.
Rodtang eager to showcase his kickboxing style at ONE 172
With fans raring to see who truly is the better striker between them, a fired-up Rodtang promised why he deserves to be recognized as one of the greatest of his generation.
In the same press conference, the Thai hero confidently declared:
"I've watched Takeru's fights and honestly, I felt scared, but it made me excited. I think his kickboxing style is strong. I'm really looking forward to March and want to show my kickboxing style to the world."
