Lito Adiwang far from amazed by Jarred Brook's 'boring' fighting style: "I want a battle between men in the middle"

Lito Adiwang isn't sure that Jarred Brooks' fighting style truly resonates with the fans. The Filipino superstar has been doing his homework these days, as talks of a potential world title clash with the interim strawweight world champion have come to the surface.

But even if 'The Monkey God' isn't next, Lito Adiwang is observing his future rival more carefully than the rest. Speaking to Sportskeeda MMA this week, Adiwang gave his honest assessment of Jarred Brooks' grappling-heavy fighting style:

"I have to admit that as a fighter, I'm not really impressed with his fighting style. Sure, we know he's a finisher, but for me, I want a battle between men in the middle of the ring. But, when he fights, he takes it to where he's good at - shoot, takedown. It could be viewed as boring, because I think not a lot of people have come to appreciate his fighting style."

Before anyone judges Lito Adiwang too critically, Jarred Brooks does have a tendency, like most grapplers, to shoot for takedowns when the fight calls for it.

Since Brooks' last couple of fights ended early, he never got a chance to show some of the boxing skills he acquired from his training. Tt's safe to say that until his next fight, we won't know exactly what those improvements look like.

"The only thing that excites me is winning" - Lito Adiwang says he pays no stock to the MMA rankings, only focused on winning all his fights

Lito Adiwang is such a high-profile name in ONE Championship already, that the rankings don't even matter to him anymore. As long as he continues to win, the chance of fighting for the belt looks more promising than before.

Adiwang is a force of nature. He's seen many ups and downs in his career, including bouncing around between injuries here and there, but he has never stopped moving forward.

After being sidelined from an injury a couple of years ago, Adiwang only wants to see W's on his resume from here on out. Surprisingly, Adiwang isn't in the top five yet, even after extending his winning streak to three this past February, against MMA chameleon Danial Williams.

But no matter the standings, 'Thunder Kid' is concerned with only one thing:

"The only thing that excites me is winning, and getting that title shot. I don't want to fight for some rankings. I want to get a World Title shot."
