Lito Adiwang thinks if Mansur Malachiev stands a chance at beating interim ONE strawweight MMA world champion Jarred Brooks, he'll have to dictate where the fight goes.
Malachiev took a big step towards contendership at ONE Fight Night 25 on Prime Video, securing a unanimous decision victory over Bokang Masunyane. The win should put the Russian standout near the top of the division and in place to challenge either interim titleholder Jarred Brooks or undisputed ONE flyweight MMA world champion Joshua Pacio.

With Pacio currently recovering from ACL surgery, there's a strong chance that Malachiev will meet Brooks first.

Speaking with Sportskeeda MMA, Adiwang suggested that if Malachiev hopes to come out on top against 'The Monkey God,' he'll have to gain the upper hand early and make Brooks play his game.
"Don’t wait. Be the one to dictate the fight," Adiwang said. "Be the one to control Jarred, and not let Jarred control you. Once Jarred gets a hold of you, it’s going to be really difficult because once he gets a hold of you, it’s 1-2-3 immediately."
Mansur Malachiev eyes title opportunity after winning three of his last four
Mansur Malachiev has won three out of four inside the Circle, including his recent win against 'Little Giant' inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
He also holds victories over Jeremy Miado and Yosuke Saruta. In fact, his only loss thus far has come against the man who holds the undisputed strawweight strap, Joshua Pacio. Malachiev came up short against 'The Passion' at ONE Fight Night 15 last year and he's been chomping at the bit to run it back ever since.
His win over Bokang Masunyane puts him in a prime position to do exactly that, but he may have to go through 'The Monkey God' first.
