Strawweight MMA contender Lito Adiwang has built a strong reputation for being a savage striker, as he showcased elite-level power and accuracy during his fights under the world's largest martial arts organization.

But in his upcoming clash with the number five-ranked divisional contender Keito Yamakita on Feb. 7 at ONE Fight Night 28 inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, he intends to showcase a different approach that will highlight his grappling skills.

Lito Adiwang shared this in his most recent interview with The MMA Superfan, where he proclaimed:

"My team prepared something, and we will see it in action. I will show a more well-rounded game of 'Thunder Kid.' I always believes that I have it in me to play once I get on the ground, but I have always focused on my stand-up game in my past few fights."

'Thunder Kid' will also use the momentum in his current three-fight win streak to potentially replace the Japanese contender in the division's top five rankings.

Lito Adiwang wants to use Keito Yamakita as a springboard to a potential run for a world title shot

The Filipino MMA star is now ready to maximize his chance to break into the upper echelon of contenders in the weight class and gravitate toward a potential shot for the world title.

Lito Adiwang expressed his excitement for this upcoming clash with the 'Pocket Monk' during the same interview with The MMA Superfan, where he said:

"I'm super happy and very excited, so it's a really happy new year. I do believe that everything happens for a reason, and everything will be alignes at the right time. And I do believe this is the right time."

ONE Fight Night 28 will emanate from the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Feb. 7, and North American viewers with an active Prime Video subscription can watch all the action live and for free.
