As a former opponent of his, Lito Adiwang has got some thoughts on the next outing that awaits Jarred Brooks.

The interim ONE strawweight MMA world champion is set to take on a new challenge at ONE Fight Night 26 on Dec. 6 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

'The Monkey God' has already achieved so much in the strawweight division, including a submission win over Adiwang in 2021. Next time out, he will move up to the flyweight division to take on the bracket's No. 4-ranked contender Reece McLaren in a fascinating matchup.

Jarred Brooks is an elite competitor, but fighting larger opponents comes with new problems to try and solve.

In a recent interview with Sportskeeda MMA, Adiwang broke down where he believes that Brooks will hold an advantage in this fight.

Though he won't be the bigger of the two men, 'Thunder Kid' sees the strawweight champion as being the faster competitor on the night:

"Jarred has a smother ground game and the main key is that he's quicker. That's where I see Jarred having the advantage - he's faster and he should have good power."

Lito Adiwang highlights the speed of Jarred Brooks

Lito Adiwang knows that Jarred Brooks has the grappling ability to control a fight and look for submissions with his excellent wrestling skills. But he might not have a strength advantage over some of the competitors at flyweight, and that also opens up a lot of interesting questions.

If Brooks can play to his strengths as the smaller competitor, using his speed to stay a step ahead of his larger opponents, he could go on to achieve a lot of success across two weight classes.

McLaren is certainly not an easy introduction to the weight class, though, and he knows that a win here puts him in the title picture with the world championship currently being vacant.
