Filipino strawweight fighter Lito Adiwang is looking forward to catching the marquee world title showdown between Thai superstars Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video on March 24.

'The Kicking Machine' Superlek and 'Iron Man' Rodtang battle for the ONE flyweight kickboxing world title, which the former holds, in proceedings that will take place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Lito Adiwang is expecting a fiery contest with the protagonists known to provide competitive and entertaining matches. 'Thunder Kid' is also excited to see the technical style of fighting of Superlek, which he said makes the clash more interesting.

The Team Lakay fighter shared in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA:

“I’m super excited to watch this fight because, wow, both fighters are very interesting to watch. Rodtang, we all know, is a super entertaining fighter and Superlek also. I think the thing that captures Superlek’s fans is his style. He’s a very technical fighter.”

Superlek is making his first defense since capturing the vacant ONE flyweight kickboxing world title last January. Rodtang, meanwhile, is seeking to become a two-sport world champion by adding the kickboxing gold to the Muay Thai strap already in his possession.

Lito Adiwang, for his part, last fought in March 2022. He sustained a knee injury, which he is still recovering from.

ONE Fight Night 8 will be aired live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.

“It’s hard to overcome this type of injury” - Lito Adiwang talks about the mental hurdles of an ACL tear

Strawweight fighter Lito Adiwang had to deal not only with the physical pain in his recovery from an ACL injury, but it also challenged him mentally, especially during the early part of the rehab process.

'Thunder Kid' injured his knee against fellow Filipino Jeremy Miado at ONE X in March 2022, forcing him to take a loss as he was unable to continue with the match after incurring the injury in the second round.

Speaking to ONE Championship, Lito Adiwang admitted that early on, he had mental fears as he began recovery:

“Actually, I did have some mental fear in the first few weeks. It’s hard to overcome this type of injury, especially on the mental side of things. I have never experienced anything like this before. Simple things like sitting down and standing up, tying my shoelaces, were a struggle.”

He added:

“But when the doctor told me that they completely fixed my knee and that it’s now stronger than it was before, it gave me more confidence, and I was able to overcome the fear inside of me.”

Lito Adiwang was set to make his return in February but had to pull out as he continued to experience recurring pain in his injured knee.
