Clay Guida wants to get on that UFC Noche card and it seems like he has a game opponent throwing his name into contention. The UFC will take over the Sphere on Sept. 14 and 'The Carpenter' has put it out there on social media that he wants a spot on that huge card.
Jordan Leavitt posted a video to Instagram from his shower and outlined his case for a lightweight fight vs the game Guida. He addressed that he had called out Guida earlier this year albeit at a time the UFC Hall of Famer had a fight booked.
Pulling back the shower curtain, Leavitt was wearing a wrestling singlet and he began listing numerous reasons as to why a fight between himself and Guida would make sense.
'The Monkey King' explained how not only are they both characters who would do well at a press conference, he also playfully stated he would indulge Guida's goal to score the most takedowns in UFC lightweight history by stating how he has never sprawled a day in his life.

Leavitt then jokingly engaged in trash talk toward Clay Guida if respectfully shooting his shot did not resonate.

Jordan Leavitt and Clay Guida's mutual opponents
Clay Guida and Jordan Leavitt have faced similar opposition before as referenced by the latter in the above Instagram video.
One individual that each UFC lightweight has competed with is Claudio Puelles. Leavitt would have the first altercation with Puelles and lost the contest to 'Prince of Peru' on points. Puelles bested Leavitt via unanimous decision at UFC Fight Night: Rozenstruik vs. Sakai via unanimous decision in June 2021. Puelles also bested Guida but this came via a first-round kneebar in an April 2022 UFC bout.
Both have also competed with Chase Hooper albeit in different disciplines. Leavitt fell shirt to Hooper inside of the UFC cage in November of last year by way of a first-round rear naked choke. Guida was also defeated by Hooper but this was in submission grappling and happened via first-round calf slicer at Fury Pro Grappling Six in December of 2022.
