At ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video, ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues will make her long-anticipated return to the circle.
Standing across from her on March 24 will be interim world titleholder Janet Todd, who will be looking to unify the world titles and add another full world championship to her collection alongside the ONE atomweight kickboxing belt that she currently holds.
Rodrigues has been away from competition for nearly three years after giving birth to her son. ONE Championship fans have only seen the Brazilian compete once under the ONE banner, but it was such an impressive debut that her return has been eagerly anticipated.
At ONE: New Breed in August 2020, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues defeated Stamp Fairtex with a great performance to become the ONE atomweight Muay Thai world champion. She then decided to take time away in order to give birth to her first child.

In her absence, veteran Janet Todd claimed the interim world title with her win over Lara Fernandez at ONE 159 to set up a huge unification on the champion’s return.
Ahead of ONE Fight Night 8, Rodrigues shared a photo of herself on Instagram. She looks in great shape and overjoyed to be able to return to competition and do what she does best.
ONE Fight Night 8 will emanate from the Singapore Indoor Stadium and will be available live and for free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America.
Janet Todd recalls botched first booking with Allycia Hellen Rodrigues
After claiming the ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai world championship, Janet Todd was ready for her huge unification clash with the returning world champion Allycia Hellen Rodrigues.
Unfortunately for both women, COVID-19 had other plans for their originally scheduled contest.
Todd claimed the interim title with a unanimous decision win over Spain’s Lara Fernandez. She became a two-sport world champion, having already claimed the ONE atomweight kickboxing world championship.
With their huge fight set for ONE on Prime Video 5, the contest fell off the card at late notice after the American tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the bout’s postponement.
In a recent interview with ONE Championship, Janet Todd reflected on how she reacted to her fight with Allycia Hellen Rodrigues being canceled and pushed back. She said:
“I remember bawling my eyes out. And I was just in shock. I didn't believe it. Because the last time I had COVID, I had the body pains fever, and I didn't have any of that. It was just like a stuffy nose, which I thought were allergies, because we were staying at a casino where there's cigarette smoke that I'm not used to.”
After giving herself time to recover back to full health, Todd and Rodriguez will finally unify the division’s Muay Thai world championships.
