Mikey Musumeci continues to prove that pizza is the secret to his ungodly submission grappling power.
The former ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion seems to be in good spirits after suffering from a torn lung this past week.
Musumeci suffered pneumomediastinum after he tried to practice the Rickson Diaphram Training this past week ahead of his planned world title matchup against Bebeto Oliveira for ONE 168: Denver.
The condition meant Musumeci had to pull out of the match and stay in the hospital to recover.

Nevertheless, Mikey Musumeci kept a positive attitude while assuring his fans that everything would be alright in his recovery.
He posted on his Instagram Stories:
"When the doctors in the hospital wanted to give me an IV, I told them just get me a pizza and I'll be all good 💀 shoutout to my mom for bringing me my favorite pizza @signorapizza @florianapastore to the hospital ❤️😭"
Musumeci was supposed to defend the ONE flyweight submission grappling world title against Oliveira, a 2024 IBJJF world champion, but missed weight and failed hydration during the official weigh-ins for ONE 168.
He was ultimately stripped of his world title before getting rushed to the hospital due to his torn lung.
'Darth Rigatoni' has since assured his fans and the combat sports community that he's doing fine while staying in the hospital.
Mikey Musumeci says combat sports forged his friendship with Rodtang Jitmuangnon
Mikey Musumeci and Rodtang Jitmuangnon could not be any more different than each other, yet the two flyweight superstars share an unbreakable friendship.
The American superstar and the ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion share a close friendship that breaks language barriers, and Musumeci said it's all thanks to their shared experiences as martial artists.
He told Cageside Press in an interview:
"We get along really well. And it's so cool because we are [from] different martial arts right? He's Muay Thai, and I'm jiu-jitsu, but it just shows how it brings us all together in martial arts."
Musumeci added:
"People from different parts of the world don't speak the same language, but we're able to be so connected and close just from the combination of martial arts. So I think that's the beautiful thing about it."
