Fabricio Andrade went all-out and claimed the vacant ONE bantamweight world title at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video with a win over fellow Brazilian fighter John Lineker.
Just like in their first encounter back in October, their rematch for the title on February 24 in Bangkok was very competitive. It saw both fighters take it to one another right from the get-go.
The fight, however, only lasted for four rounds. Lineker was unable to continue beyond it after suffering a nasty cut above his right eye, giving Fabricio Andrade the well-deserved technical knockout win and the world title.
While he was crowned champion, 'Wonder Boy' had to be taken to the hospital as a precaution following a grueling contest.

Fabricio Andrade posted a photo on Instagram of himself in bed with the ONE bantamweight world title belt. He captioned it with:
“Dream come true #worldchampion #longlivetheking👑”
Fabricio Andrade engaged Lineker in a competitive opening round of their rematch at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. It continued in the succeeding two rounds, where both fighters exchanged solid strikes with much effectiveness.
In the fourth round, the combatants, both already battered, continued to attack. But it was 'Wonder Boy' who had a flurry to finish the canto, stringing up crisp punches that inflicted further damage to Lineker.
That proved to be the end for 'Hands of Stone' as his corner saw it fit to wave the white flag and not continue in the final round to protect their fighter.
The win finally put an end to the two fighters’ championship rivalry after their first fight ended in a no contest.
Fabricio Andrade urges Stephen Loman to challenge him for his newly won world title
Newly minted ONE bantamweight world champion Fabricio Andrade knows who is next for him, challenging Filipino contender Stephen 'The Sniper' Loman for a world title showdown.
Immediately after claiming the vacant bantamweight belt with a technical knockout victory over John 'Hands of Stone' Lineker in their title clash at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video, 'Wonder Boy' said he was giving Loman a shot at the title.
Fabricio Andrade was direct, stating:
“We already got a contender in line. [Stephen] Loman, you want this? Come and get it.”
Andrade took hold of the ONE bantamweight gold by battering Lineker in the main event of ONE Fight Night 7 at the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium. It did not come easy for him, however, as he also absorbed damage along the way.
Ultimately, though, he just had more to give in the end on the way to the well-deserved victory.
Loman, meanwhile, is now the consensus No. 1 title contender in the division. He has been on a roll since making his ONE debut in December 2021, winning three straight.
His last victory was against former bantamweight champion Bibiano Fernandes by unanimous decision back in November.
