Jarred Brooks recently made a trip back to his hometown with his championship belt.
Every world champion came from a place where they were just another member of society. For the ONE Championship strawweight king, a town of nearly 16,000 people in Indiana was where his journey started.
Now that Brooks has reached the top of the mountain, he went back to Warsaw and reunited with the locals. He uploaded an Instagram post about the special moment, with the caption:
“Had a blast coming to my home town #warsawindiana and met some new amazing people and supporters ! And some friends that I haven’t seen in years or since I was a kid . I will never forget where I come from ! Thank you @crossfithaymaker for having me and helping me in my early pro career! Stop by there if you would like to transform your body!”

Brooks made his ONE debut in November 2021 with a professional MMA record of 16-2. The American strawweight quickly established himself as a legitimate contender by defeating Lito Adiwang and Hiroba Minowa in his first two fights with the promotion.
‘The Monkey God’ went on to defeat Bokang Masunyane, securing a title shot against Joshua Pacio. On December 3, 2022, Brooks made his lifelong dream come true by becoming a world champion.

What’s next for Jarred Brooks?
Jarred Brooks has several options for his next opponent. The most likely matchup would appear to be an instant rematch against Joshua Pacio, considering he was the strawweight king for a long time.
If Pacio doesn’t get the rematch, Brooks could take on an opponent he hasn’t faced yet, a pool that included Gustavo Balart, Jeremy Miado, and Danial Williams.
It wouldn’t be controversial for any of those opponents to get a world title shot. With that said, there is an argument for Balart, Miado, and Williams needing one more win before earning a world championship fight.
In the meantime, Brooks could compete in a superfight against Demetrious Johnson after the flyweight king's next bout, unless ONE is intrigued by the rematch against Pacio.
