“Look at yourself in the mirror” - Mikey Musumeci urges haters and critics to look inward

Mikey Musumeci might be a nice guy, but he's not shying away from making his words known.

The ONE flyweight submission grappling world champion took another submission victory, this time in a heavier division, over his old nemesis Gabriel Sousa.

Now, he's deep in preparation for his ONE bantamweight submission grappling world title challenge against Kade Ruotolo.

In an interview with The MMA Hour, Musumeci says that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they better get their facts straight.

'Darth Rigatoni' channeled his inner darkside when he spoke about all the haters and critics who had been grilling him all these times, and said they had no strong foundations to think that way.

The American superstar said:

"You like me, awesome- if you don't, then look at yourself in the mirror and wonder why you don't like me. Either you heard wrong information about me, or something that I'm saying or doing triggers you about yourself. That's pretty much it, because I'm so nice to everyone."

Mikey Musumeci praises Kade Ruotolo, excited for a good match

Aside from having a 'darkside', Mikey Musumeci is full of praises for those he deems worthy, and Kade Ruotolo was able to get on his good side.

Ahead of their massive world title clash at ONE 168: Denver, 'Darth Rigatoni' is fully focused on Ruotolo, but this was not for vengeful reasons like he had with former nemesis Gabriel Sousa.

When interviewed by ONE Championship's Mitch Chilson after his victory at ONE 167, Musumeci quickly praised his upcoming rival on a high note.

Musumeci said:

"This isn’t about money for me. This isn’t about just winning. I can win in my division, obviously you guys can see I can win in my division. That’s why I want to roll with the best guys."

He continued:

"Kade and me are both the two best natural athletes in jiu-jitsu - and Tye, of course. But we’re gonna make the biggest fight in jiu-jitsu history - the two natural people that don’t take any steroids or cheat. And that’s why we’re doing this. We’re making history and I want to fuckin roll with the best. He’s f***ing awesome."
