‘Roberto Soldic celebrated his birthday with a delicious-looking ONE Championship-themed cake.
Former KSW double world champion Roberto Soldic, who turned 28 on January 25, thanked the MMA community for joining in the celebration on Instagram.
“Thank you all for the birthday wishes🙏🏻❤️I have best support from you guys🦾 #hungry #onechampionship”
Chatri Sityodtong, the CEO and chairman of ONE Championship, promptly responded to his post by saying:

“The nicest cake I have ever seen!!! Haha! See you soon, Roberto!”
Despite ending the last year on a bitter note, Roberto Soldic is excited to return to the circle to settle some unfinished business. Last December, the Croatian superstar made his anticipated debut against Dagestani wrestler Murad Ramazanov in a high-stakes world title eliminator bout.
The winner of the bout would’ve potentially put either fighter next in line for a world title shot against two-division world champion Christian Lee. Unfortunately, the match ended abruptly in the first round.
When Ramazanov tried to level change from the clinch, he accidentally landed a low blow on Soldic who writhed in pain upon impact. The striking specialist had a few minutes to recover but he couldn’t get back to his feet. The referee had no choice but to rule the bout a No Contest.
Although no date has been released yet for their immediate rematch, fans are waiting in anticipation for Soldic’s return.
ONE CEO reacts to No Contest bout between Roberto Soldic and Murad Ramazanov
ONE CEO and chairman Chatri Sityodtong couldn’t believe how the highly-anticipated fight between Roberto Soldic and Murad Ramazanov ended in a No Contest.
Generally, fighters wear metal cups to protect themselves before a fight. Even MMA veteran, ‘Mighty Mouse’ Demetrious Johnson only wears steel cups, which are the best material out there to protect the most intimate part of the body. So what kind of cup was Roberto Soldic wearing that night?
Sityodtong, also confused by the situation, said at the post-fight interviews at ONE on Prime Video 5:
"I don't know why he didn't use a metal cup or a plastic cup. His cup was hard foam. I don't know who manufactures hard foam - I saw it, I said, 'Did the cup break?' And they showed me the cup. It's one of those hard foam cups. It's crazy. So, he took a nut shot as if he were without a cup. It's hard foam - and you saw it, right?"
Hopefully, both fighters will look upon last year’s event as a lesson learned.
