Christian Lee is keeping a close eye on rising lightweight title contender Halil Amir.
Amir made his ONE Championship debut at ONE on Prime Video 2 against former-ranked lightweight Timofey Nastyukhin. The Turkish-born fighter lived up to the hype with a brutal TKO win in the second round.
During an interview with The MMA Superfan, Lee was asked about the No.3-ranked lightweight. He had this to say:
“He came in very strong by finishing Timofey, who’s one of the best in the division and he’s proven it. I think next we’ll see who his next test would be, which could be another guy in the top five. We’ll see. I’m looking forward to seeing who he faces next.”

At the age of 28, Amir has emerged as a fighter to watch moving forward. He now has a record of 8-0, with seven KO/TKOs and one submission. It's also intriguing how all eight of his fights were with different promotions.
Although he needs more wins, it seems like it's only a matter of time before the Turkish-born fighter competes for a world title.

Christian Lee thinks Halil Amir had a "good game plan" against Timofey Nastyukhin
Halil Amir’s win against Timofey Nastyukhin put the entire ONE lightweight division on notice. Not only did he win, but the Turkish fighter’s perfect finish record remained in tact.
During the same interview, Christian Lee had this to say about Amir’s win against Nastyukhin:
“Styles make matches, I think Timofey came in there and he sort of, I don’t wanna talk bad about the guy because I have a lot of respect for Timofey. I think that Halil Amir had a good game plan for that fight and it showed.”
Before worrying about Amir, Lee is focused on becoming a two-division world champion. 'The Warrior' takes on welterweight champion Kiamrian Abbasov at ONE on Prime Video 4.
With a win, the lightweight world champion will be the fourth fighter in promotional history to become a two-division MMA champion.
