Haney and Garcia faced off in a 12-round boxing bout in April 2024, where Garcia knocked Haney down three times, ultimately securing a victory via majority decision. However, the outcome of the fight was overturned to a no contest in June after Garcia tested positive for ostarine, resulting in a fine for his actions.

Speaking with the former undefeated world champion Ward, Haney was asked about Garcia’s left hook speed. Haney gave an unclear response, suggesting it was due to performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs).

The clip was shared by @Hassanwellss on X, sparking a strong reaction from boxing fans, who flooded the comment section with their thoughts.

A former opponent of Devin Haney believes 'The Dream' will lose in a rematch with Ryan Garcia

A former opponent of Devin Haney, Regis Prograis, was interviewed by YSM Sports Media. He asserted that Haney being knocked down three times by Garcia would haunt him, and if there were to be a rematch, he wouldn't be able to overcome that thought. Prograis said:

“I’m not going to say he’s shot. I don’t think that, but I don’t think he’s going to beat Ryan. Mentally, he knows he got beat. He dropped three times and got his a** whipped by Ryan. That’s always going to be there. No matter what they put out there, and no matter what Bill [Haney] says, that’s always going to be in the back of his mind. ‘Damn, he really beat me. I don’t think Devin will be able to beat Ryan, but if he fights somebody else, I don’t know.”
