Fans recently reacted after Merab Dvalishvili's latest bantamweight MMA math skit in response to Petr Yan's callout last Saturday at UFC Macau. The skit sparked a mixed reaction as many fans believe Umar Nurmagomedov deserves the next title shot.

The reigning bantamweight champion posted a video to his X account, where he makes a case for why he should defend his title against Yan rather than Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili mentioned that both he and Yan have defeated several former champions and top-ranked contenders and appear willing to grant the former champion a rematch.

Merab Dvalishvili takes a shot at Umar Nurmagomedov

Merab Dvalishvili took a shot at Umar Nurmagomedov and claimed that the UFC gifted him an opportunity because of his last name.

Despite 'Young Eagle' boasting an unbeaten record, it doesn't appear as though 'The Machine' is too impressed by the quality of his opponents. During the aforementioned skit, Dvalishvili had 'Khabib's cousin' labeled over Nurmagomedov's picture and mentioned that he expects to be handed an opportunity instead of racking up wins over other top-ranked opponents:

"We have Umar [Nurmagomedov]. And who, he has beat who? Who?...No one but gifted [Cory] Sandhagen. Also, reminder guys, I was backup fighter for O'Malley vs. Vera and when UFC asked Umar to be a backup fighter for me and O'Malley, he said no. I mean, this guy wants title shot served to his bed like breakfast."
