Nothing beats a quick day in the office — and that was something that American striking savant Luke Lessei enjoyed in his recent match at ONE Fight Night 27.
The 28-year-old was cooking from the sound of the bell, attacking promotional newcomer Cody Jerome with inch-perfect precision in their 160.5-pound catchweight Muay Thai bout inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
From there, it didn't take long for 'The Chef' to perfect his recipe for a first highlight-reel win in the promotion.
Lessei started with a left kick to the liver that sent his foe crashing to the canvas. In case the midsection wasn't sorted, the featherweight striker delivered another punishing teep down the middle for the second knockdown of the match.

Smelling blood in the water, the American star hopped back into action when the match resumed to plant a right elbow for the third and final knockdown of the stanza to take home a TKO after two minutes of action.
Luke Lessei couldn't contain his excitement after getting his career back on track, as he told Nick Atkin:
"Yeah, super happy. I mean, the last couple [of] fights have been some wars. So, it's really cool to go in there like a computer, analyze my opponent, get the win, get the money, come out unscathed."

"My life has changed" - Luke Lessei grateful for performance bonus after show-stopping finish at ONE Fight Night 27
To make matters sweeter for Luke Lessei, he was the first of two recipients to claim the US$50,000 performance bonus on offer at last week's ONE Fight Night 27, the other being Denice Zamboanga who walked away with a similar amount after claiming the ONE interim atomweight MMA world title with a second-round TKO.
Reflecting on the hefty sum he received, Luke Lessei told Mitch Chilson during the post-fight in-ring interview.
"Guys, you have no idea how much my life has changed right now. I went through the worst year, and everything just changed tonight. I'm just so thankful for Chatri. This is like a moment I'll never forget. I can't believe it right now. I'm in shock, man. 'The Chef' movie is gonna be a blockbuster when all this is said and done."
