'The Chef' Luke Lessei doesn't want to wait too long before hopping back into action to cook up a storm in ONE Championship.

After a run of mixed results in his past three outings, the Iowa native knew he had to put on a show against promotional newcomer Cody Jerome at ONE Fight Night 27 inside Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium this past weekend.

His recipe for success was evident from the start — to connect with full accuracy and power and ensure he was in the driver's seat every time they traded.

The 28-year-old threw everything but the kitchen sink at his foe and was rewarded for his fine effort with the TKO win after scoring the third and final knockdown of the round with a right elbow at 2:00 of the first round.

Luke Lessei wants to build on that momentum in the shortest time possible, as he said during the ONE Fight Night 27 post-event press conference:

"Yeah, I came out of that fight untouched, so I'm ready to get back in there, honestly, ASAP. Yeah, whenever, you know, get another good camp in, another like six to eight-week camp, and then we're good to go. Make sure we're dialed in."

To make matters sweeter for 'The Chef,' he received a US$50,000 performance bonus for the sixth highlight-reel finish on his resume. His overall slate improved to 8-2.

Luke Lessei credits his new team for instilling "a bulletproof mind" before his victorious outing

While losing is something completely normal, Luke Lessei admits he struggled with his mental game heading into ONE Fight Night 27 after falling short against Bampara Kouyate and Jo Nattawut in the promotion.

To solve his troubles, 'The Chef' switched camps and sought the help of a mental performance coach — a decision that he admits paid dividends.

During the in-ring interview with Mitch Chilson, the Iowa-based athlete gave a shoutout to his new crew, saying:

"My two coaches over here at Beacon have unlocked a new 'Chef,' and we're cooking different recipes, man. I don't know. The confidence was at an all-time high. I have a mental performance coach, Jerry Walsh, and it's like I have a bulletproof mind right now."
