Colby Covington recently claimed that he offered his services for a short-notice fight against Shavkat Rakhmonov after Belal Muhammad withdrew from their UFC 310 welterweight title clash. However, fans don't appear to believe him.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Covington claimed he was ready for a fight against Rakhmonov if the promotion needed someone who "put a**es in seats" at events. However, the UFC seemingly has other plans and didn't need Covington to step up.

Colby Covington says he asked for Shavkat Rakhmonov for a short-notice fight

Colby Covington recently revealed that he's keen on facing Shavkat Rakhmonov in a potential interim welterweight title fight at UFC 310 and is confident that he could beat 'Nomad' in the cage. However, the UFC had different plans.

Speaking to Submission Radio, 'Chaos' outlined the conversation he had with the promotion and revealed why they didn't let him have a shot at Rakhmonov next. Explaining that the UFC was looking at Kamaru Usman as a potential replacement, he said:

"I was very tempted. If the UFC would've called me, they know I'm a game-time player. I love doing the biggest and best business for the company... Looks like they're going for a different route. They're going to potentially go with the Usman and sh*trat [Shavkat] fight. Good on them, that's okay. I'm right there, still. I beat someone, I'm right back in the [title] conversation. I love that."
