Mackenzie Dern recently emerged victorious in a rematch with Amanda Ribas at UFC Vegas 101. After the victory, the 31-year-old made an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show, where she discussed various topics.
At one point during the conversation, Dern reflected on the time she faced Amanda Ribas just four months after giving birth to her first child.
The Brazilian also spoke about successfully making weight for the fight after coming in overweight by seven pounds for her previous encounter against Amanda Cooper:
"I took the whole pregnancy off... Everyone was jsut kind of like, 'Oh, she's never going to come back.' I had lost all these followers, like 70,000 followers. Just for me to be on weight, especially since my last fight before my pregnancy, it was one of the biggest weight misses... I was back fighting four months [after the pregnancy].I trained maybe like two months for that fight... So yeah, for sure, I think I came back too soon [after pregnancy]."
