"Man that is gnarly" - Fans react as Mike Davis posts video tearing his bicep that has caused him to pull out of Drew Dober fight

Mike Davis will not be clashing with Drew Dober this Summer after the former sustained a serious injury. The rising lightweight gave more details underneath the video of him suffering the injury which elaborated on things in a deeper way.

The excerpt of his journal entry shared with the online combat sports community states that he tore his bicep causing a three-and-a-half-inch retraction in the muscle whereby he'll need surgery to reattach the tendon to the bone.

Via his X account, Davis posted video footage of the injury that put the end on his July 13 UFC Fight Night showdown and captioned the clip:

"You can literally hear it snap. I'm so disappointed."

Several combat sports enthusiasts online offered their support for Davis during this obviously difficult time.

Mike Davis and his UFC run so far

Mike Davis made his UFC debut in April 2019 against a truly stiff test against Gilbert Burns. The bout saw Burns secure a rear naked choke in the final minute of the second round to secure the victory and spoil Davis' party.

The 31-year-old has not lost inside the confines of the UFC cage since that fight though. In the following bout, he halted Thomas Gifford with a right cross in the final round.

The New York native then had his third UFC fight against Mason Jones in January 2021. Mike Davis would notch another win at UFC Fight Night: Chiesa vs. Magny when he bested Jones by unanimous decision.

Davis would get another unanimous decision in his following outing against Viacheslav Borshchev when they collided at UFC Fight Night: Dern vs. Yan.

The last UFC fight for 'Beast Boy' took place in March of this year. Mike Davis finished Natan Levy with an arm triangle choke in the second round of their UFC Fight Night: Tuivasa vs. Tybura matchup.
