Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim revealed his interest in kickboxing.

Earlier this week, the Premier League's official YouTube channel released a short interview with Amorim. The football manager was asked about his interests outside of his sport, leading to the following answer:

"Simple, simple. Gym, kickboxing, but I spend a lot of time with my kids. Go to school, pick up. It's really important for me to be present all the time."

Amorim followed up by explaining why he enjoys training in kickboxing:

"I stopped for a while. In the last year in sporting, I didn't have the time. It's hard, the training, but it's really good in this profession to have something that you can push and then you can relax."

Amorim is a 39-year-old former football player who represented Portugal and played for Benfica between 2008 and 2017. He worked his way up the coaching ladder with Braga and Sporting CP before officially earning the Manchester United job in late 2024, taking over for Erik Ten Hag.

Ruben Amorim plans to be "more demanding" with Amad Diallo after new Manchester United contract

Ruben Amorim's first few months as the Manchester United manager have not been overly successful. With that said, the legendary club has several positive takeaways from their 2024/2025 season, as they previously re-signed 22-year-old Amad Diallo to a five-and-a-half-year contract extension.

According to UtdDistrict, a reliable source for Manchester United news, Amorim had this to say about his expectations for Diallo moving forward:

"We are going to be more demanding with Amad. He knows what we want to expect from him. Now he has a bigger responsibility because he has a long contract with a big club, so we're going to be really demanding with him."

Manchester United's latest season has been a failure, as the historic club is ranked No. 13th in the Premier League. The last few weeks have created more headaches for Amorim because they haven't won since a 2-1 victory against Manchester City in mid-December 2024 (0-3-1 in the last four EPL games).
