Manel Kape put on his best performance in years at UFC Tampa on Dec. 14 against Bruno Silva, securing a third-round TKO win. The Angolan dominated the fight throughout, and provided much entertainment for fans with his showboating during the fight.
Kape bounced back well from his defeat to Muhammad Mokaev at UFC 304 in July, and he has called for a title shot against Alexandre Pantoja after his win against Silva. 'Starboy' went so far as to say that should he not receive a title shot, he will knock on UFC CEO Dana White's door in Las Vegas and demand to know why.
Kape stated that he and White both live in the same estate in 'Sin City', and with the lack of obvious flyweight contenders for Pantoja to face, the 31-year-old believes it is his time to fight for gold.
At the post-event press conference following UFC Tampa, the flyweight contender said:

"I know they want to put me with somebody else to fight with before Pantoja, but it can't be. I'm tired of this bulls**t of Kai Kara-France. We've been booked two times, he didn't show up... I'm not going to wait for anybody... It's my time to get the title shot."
When asked if he had spoken to White backstage, Kape said:
"Me and Dana, we are neighbors. We live 10 minutes away from each other. If we don't have that conversation, I'm going to his house. I'm going to knock on his door because we live in Summerlink in Vegas."

Manel Kape appeared in front of the media following an impressive performance at UFC Tampa and called for a crack at the flyweight champion, Alexandre Pantoja. However, less than an hour later, the promotion's CEO, Dana White, appeared in front of the media where he shut down the Angolan's request.
White responded by saying:
"No he's not getting the title shot. But we'll definitely give him what he's looking for."

Pantoja most recently defeated Kai Asakura in the main event of UFC 310 to defend his title. Asakura made his promotional debut against the Brazilian, with many believing the Japanese star to have been signed due to a lack of contenders in the division.
