Multi-time featherweight kickboxing world title challenger Marat Grigorian believes his saga with Superbon is far from over.

The legendary Armenian slugger has met the Thai megastar thrice in his career, with the last two taking place under the ONE banner.

Grigorian, who dropped those two world title meetings against Superbon, hopes he can run it back with the interim featherweight kickboxing king sometime in 2025.

But if given a chance, Grigorian hopes their next duel will no longer take place in Superbon's home country Thailand.

The Hemmers Gym affiliate told The Bangkok Post's Nick Atkin in his ONE Friday Fights 92 post-event interview:

"Against Superbon, I don’t want to fight in Thailand. I want to fight somewhere else, you know. It will be better for me."

Marat Grigorian went five full rounds with Superbon at ONE Friday Fights 58 last April for the 155-pound kickboxing division's interim title.

It was indeed a magnificent back-and-forth contest between the pair of world-class strikers, with the outcome determined by the slightest of margins.

Much to the delight of the Thai audience at Lumpinee Stadium, Superbon got the nod and got ahead in his series with Grigorian, two wins to one.

Marat Grigorian's hunt for elusive ONE world title continues in 2025

Marat Grigorian rebounded from that loss to Superbon with an emphatic knockout victory over Abdelali “Black Diamond” Zahidi last December at ONE Friday Fights 92.

A three-time Glory Kickboxing World champion, Grigorian has pretty much won a belt everywhere he fought, except in the home of martial arts.

In 2025, the 33-year-old veteran vows to keep pushing to earn himself another shot at 26 pounds of gold. The Armenian striking icon told Nick Atkin:

"Of course, that's the goal [fighting for the ONE world title]. That's the mindset. We are always preparing ourselves to get the belt, you know, and that's the key, of course. I need that belt."
