Armenian veteran Marat Grigorian intends to do battle with Superbon for the third time under the ONE Championship banner, and he has just the perfect card in mind: ONE 172.

The world's largest martial arts organization announced its blockbuster return to Japan, set for March 23 in Saitama.

Given the country's rich history in the discipline, the former ONE world title believes a rubber match alongside one of striking's all-time greats will be a perfect fit for what would be an electric night inside Saitama Super Arena.

Speaking shortly after his win at ONE Friday Fights 92, the former ONE world title challenger told Nick Atkin:

"With all pleasure. With all pleasure. It will be a good match in Japan. It will be awesome for me. Not Thailand."

After all, the Hemmers Gym man has built a solid name for himself in "The Land of the Rising Sun."

The 33-year-old has competed there on a number of occasions throughout his stint as a three-time kickboxing world champion, arguably saving some of his best career displays for the Japanese audience.

That was certainly the case at ONE 165 inside Tokyo's Ariake Arena last January as he overcame longtime nemesis Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong via a third-round knockout.

Marat Grigorian will join the promotion's biggest stars should his wish be granted

Three epic fights - featuring the cream of the crop in the promotion - will land upon the Saitama Super Arena this coming March.

At the top of the spectacle, Takeru Segawa and Rodtang Jitmuangnon trade leather in a five-round flyweight kickboxing clash.

Meanwhile, two-sport world champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 is expected to unify the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against the victor of the interim war between Nico Carrillo and Nabil Anane.

Lastly, Yuya Wakamatsu and Adriano Moraes run it back for the vacant flyweight MMA gold.

Despite the lineup already loaded with superstars, it definitely makes sense for the matchmakers to give Marat Grigorian and Superbon their rubber match inside the Saitama Super Arena — an excellent addition to ONE 172.
