Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida shared some wisdom about pushing through difficult moments in life.

Buchecha has plenty of knowledge to spread regarding hard work and dedication. The 17-time Brazilian jiu-jitsu world champion has found tremendous success in his combat sports career, including an undefeated 4-0 record under the ONE Championship banner. The grappling legend recently posted an Instagram picture of him training with the caption saying:

“It's always easier to find an excuse than a solution, the truth is, no one cares about your sad stories! Always do your best, whatever it may be, find what drives you, your reasons and do it for yourself, and not for anyone else!”

After building a lifetime Brazilian jiu-jitsu record of 138-14-1, Buchecha decided to transition to MMA full-time. He made his ONE debut in September 2021, defeating Anderson ‘Braddock’ Silva with a first-round submission. Several months later, the Brazilian continued his journey with another first-round submission against Kang Ji Won.

What’s next for Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida?

On March 24, the heavyweight unification bout between reigning champion Arjan Bhullar and interim titleholder Anatoly Malykhin goes down at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video. Meanwhile, Marcus 'Buchecha' Almeida hopes to fight for the heavyweight throne this year, but he needs at least one more win.

Although nothing is official, Buchecha could be matched up against Amir Aliakbari. The Iranian wrestler started his ONE tenure with an 0-2 record before silencing the doubters by defeating Mauro Cerilli and former heavyweight world champion Brandon Vera.

There’s a solid argument for Aliakbari and Buchecha being one win away from a title shot, leading to a potential number-one contender fight. It would also be intriguing to see how the stylistic matchup would play out. With that said, ONE might have a different plan for these heavyweight contenders.
